Where should I start?I recommend starting with a FREE 20 minute consultation call. Since the therapeutic relationship is so relational, it is important to see if I am a good fit for your needs and/or personality before we jump into scheduling.
How can I tell if a clinician is a good fit for me?The best way to do this is to schedule that FREE 20 minute consultation call, to get a feel for how your interactions might feel in session. Some people’s personalities mesh, where others do not. The important thing is that you feel comfortable to open up and confident that the clinician can help you. Take a look at the clinician’s experience and areas of expertise. Do they specialize in what you are hoping to address? Consider whether or not your schedules align. Can you and the clinician find a time to meet that works for both of your schedules? Can the clinician accommodate the level of frequency you are looking for, etc.
If I decide I want to work with you, what happens next?To begin, we'll schedule an intake session. After that, I'll send you the initial paperwork via email. During the intake, we'll review the paperwork together, discuss your counseling goals, and address any questions or concerns you may have. I'll also take some time to learn more about you and your history. From there, we'll work together to craft a treatment plan—a roadmap that guides us through our journey together and helps us stay focused on your progress and goals. Starting counseling is an exciting step toward growth and healing, and I'm here to support you every step of the way!
How do I schedule my appointments? You can schedule online using the client portal.

I don’t live in Colorado. Can you still be my clinician? I am only licensed to practice counseling in the state of Colorado. HOWEVER, I can and do provide coaching to people who reside outside of Colorado. Coaching is different from counseling, which focuses on working through emotions and experiences. Coaching is usually short-term and focuses on setting and achieving specific behavioral goals.
What are your rates? - 20-minute consultation call: FREE
- 50-minute session: $165.00
I accept all major credit cards, cash, and check. I also accept Flexible Savings Accounts and Health Savings Accounts.
How much should I anticipate spending in total for my mental health care? You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost. Under the law, health care providers must provide patients who do not have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, which includes counseling services. You have the right to receive this prior to scheduling any medical services. If you receive a bill that is $400 or greater than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your GFE.
For more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises
How long are your appointments?I typically provide 60-minute sessions, but do offer extended sessions (90-120 minutes) as needed or desired. I find that longer sessions are often helpful when doing EMDR or couples work.
Do you take insurance?I do not accept insurance, but I do provide documentation for out-of-network benefits upon request.
What if I cannot afford counseling?Counseling is a financial investment in your health and well-being – it’s an investment in YOU. And you’re worth it. If you are not able to pay for the full rate of counseling, I do provide a sliding scale to a percentage of my caseload.
NOTE: As of now, my spaces for sliding scale are full (updated 9/9/24). However, please let me know if this is something you are interested in and I can provide you with referrals for clinics and clinicians who provide sliding scale in the community. Even if we can’t work together, it is important to me that people find the therapeutic support they need.
How often should I come in for counseling? Session frequency is agreed upon between clinician and client at the initial session. I prefer to meet with clients on a weekly to biweekly basis, as this allows for us to stay focused and create the most effective changes. However, due to finances or scheduling conflicts, this level of frequency might not be possible and can absolutely be accommodated. Once issues are sufficiently addressed and maintenance becomes the new goal, I often see clients on a monthly or as needed basis.
Do you provide virtual counseling? YES! I have a hybrid model, so I have the ability to see people in-person or online, which means my services are offered to ALL Colorado residents.
